Online Friday Night Practice - Wake Up New York Sangha

Allison Michelle

Dear Sangha,

We invite you to join this week’s remote gathering, which will be facilitated by Jairo and Allison.

Finding our true home in the here and now, we sit with both our joys and our aches. Harnessing the collective energy of the sangha, we practice together for the transformation and healing of ourselves and society.

We are here for you as we continue the following schedule:

6/10: Zoom 8pm

6/17: Outdoor/Hybrid*

6/24: Zoom

7/1: Outdoor/Hybrid*

7/8: Indoor at Still Mind Zendo/Hybrid*

*In the spirit of maintaining an inclusive community, we are currently working to expand our online hosting capabilities so members who are unable to attend in person are able to do so virtually.

The session tomorrow, Friday, June 10th, will be remote for all. Starting time is the usual 8pm. Please see below for meeting details and guidelines.

A lotus for you,

Care Taking Council & Facilitators

1. Reduce distractions. Prior to the meeting, close other tabs and windows on your screen, and put away your phone as you would do at an in-person sangha.

2. If you are having technical difficulties, contact the co-host privately. He/she will try to support you the best way possible.

3. When wanting to say/share something, start by saying your name, “bowing in”/your name “bowing out,” so people know who has bowed. Our body language can be difficult to read online. By stating we are bowing in and out, you help us become aware of your participation.

Thank you so much for being part of the Wake Up New York community. If you have other ideas/suggestions to enhance the experience of our sangha meetings, kindly reach out to the facilitators and/or Care Taking Council.
