Wake Up in Central Park @ Pilgrim Hill, Friday June 3rd 7-9pm
Wake Up New York
Dear Wake Up New York,
We are grateful and excited to continue our in-person gatherings outside at the park! Please join us this Friday, June 3rd, at 7:00 pm EST in Central Park (Pilgrim Hill).
We would cherish and deeply appreciate your presence as we practice joyfully together in sitting meditation, walking meditation, reading, and Dharma sharing. We will gather in one of the lawns on Pilgrim Hill near the Conservatory Water pond - enter at 5th Avenue & E 72nd Street (directions below).
You may like to bring something comfortable to sit/lay on (e.g., cushion, blanket, towel). Though we feel it is safe to gather together outside, COVID-19 safety precautions are still encouraged.
Note: We start earlier at 7:00 pm for park gatherings (meditation starts at 7:15 pm). We will still have virtual Sangha practice on other Friday evenings. At this time, we plan to alternate in-person and Zoom meetings until otherwise announced, as follows:
6/3: Pilgrim Hill
6/10: Zoom @8pm
6/17: Pilgrim Hill (hybrid w/zoom)
6/24: Zoom @8pm
7/1: Pilgrim Hill (hybrid w/zoom)
7/8: Indoor at Still Mind Zendo from 8-10pm (hybrid w/zoom)
Then continuing in hybrid format at SMZ.
More information will follow regarding hybrid format and indoor meetings at SMZ starting in July.
Please check the Wake Up New York Facebook group or website for announcements and updates! As we are practicing in person this week, there will not be a Zoom meeting. In the event of inclement weather, we will announce any cancellations of the in-person gathering by 5:00 pm the day of, and convert to a Zoom meeting at the usual time of 8:00 pm EST.
Directions: Pilgrim Hill is located on the East Side of Central Park between 72nd and 74th Streets. We normally set up on the lawn to the right-hand side of the walkway/path leading from the information kiosk to the water (see maps below). If arriving by public transportation, the nearest subway station is the 4 and 6 trains at 68th & Lexington. You could also arrive on the west side via the B/C trains at 72nd Street, then traverse the park on Terrace Drive.
